DIRECTING

World Woman Hour 2023

For the third annual World Woman Hour, created in partnership with World Woman Foundation, we filmed six women all around New York City, and told their stories in docu-style films. I directed half of them, and below are two of my favorites, Jessica and Maggie.

LOVING

Neal Treadwell and Hugh Nini, authors of “LOVING: A Photographic History of Men in Love, 1850s-1950s”, began an accidental collection over 20 years ago of photos depicting men in love. Fast forward over 3200 images later, where they knew they had to share what they had with the world. They published a beautiful, powerful book, and our team at Hogarth partnered with them to create an exhibition in our studios, showcasing the images and creating an interactive experience for everyone who attended.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Hugh and Neal to hear more about the photos, their backstories, and their love. I directed and produced 18 vignettes in all. Here are some of my favorites.

World Woman Hour // #shesmyhero

60 women : 60 minutes : 60 stories. In addition to producing this event for the World Woman Foundation, I had the honor to direct 15 of the 60 ‘at home Zoom shoots’, where I worked with each of the women through Zoom, as their partners, sons, or tripods would help them film footage on their iPhones. Below are two videos that I directed, which also include supplementary third party footage from previously recorded videos.

Check out how we made this happen with a behind the scenes look.

You can watch the full event here.

A Day in the Life: Todd Carmichael

Coffee genius Todd Carmichael, of La Colombe, took me around Philadelphia for a day to introduce me to his business, his passion, and his family. This is what came of it!

LENSES

"Lenses" is a short film that was featured in 10+ film festivals with an additional run at IFC in New York City. It uses satire to deliver commentary on how women are often treated and perceived in the film community. We knew the best way to deliver this message was to flip the expected gender roles to heighten the impact for the viewer. We also loved that, in the process of sharing this story about women in film, we, as women in film, wrote, directed, produced, edited, and starred in it.
